Product Details

This is a truly wonderful Victorian ring, rich in sentimental meaning and a perfect example of sweetheart jewelry at its best.

It features two hearts both containing an old cut diamond, sandwiched between the Hebrew word, 'Mizpah' in raised lettering.

Textured borders line run along the top and bottom of the 18ct gold band, adding intricate detail to the piece.

The word Mizpah comes from the Old Testament (Genesis 31:49, "And Mizpah; for he said, The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent from one another")
Mizpah jewellery was popular during the Victorian era from the mid- to late-1800s and tended to serve as sweetheart jewellery, given to a loved one during a period of long separation such as military service or travel.

The shank is clearly hallmarked for 18ct Gold, Birmingham and the Victorian year, 1892. The makers mark, A.S is also clearly visible.

The ring is a UK size M which is a US size 6 1/4. The face of the ring measures 7mm and the thinnest part of the band, at the very back, measures 3.5mm.

Please have a look at the pictures and video and dont hesitate to get in touch if you require any further information.
